sketches

This one was fun.  Just a
lot of head-kicking action.
Over on the thumb
sketches I still would have
liked to see how #2 would
have turned out.
I'm really proud of this. Just a cool
Iconic Robin shot.
The hardest part was picking the
letters for the sign.
I like spirals.
These sketches
reflect very
different versions
of this cover.
Pete and I
loved the
first sketch
here. But
agreed it
was just way
too comical
Still one of my favorites. I had fun
with the people in the windows. The
shoe? I Actually used a sandal for
reference. The arm? Taught and
springing to action? Posed by world
famous hand model.  He is known
only as.....
Devin.
The second of a 2 part series of
covers.

Maybe you should skip down to part
one first. Then come back to this
one.

Part one.

I approached this like a warped
Norman Rockwell.
When Pete told me he wanted
Robin and Boomerang on the cover
I went ahead and drew them fighting
each other.  Good guy <VS> bad
guy.

I then proudly showed Pete the
unfinished rough pencils of our two
enemies fighting. He was happy to
tell me I needed to clean the wax
out  of my ears and listen carefully
to his instructions..
He wanted them fighting
TOGETHER.
NOT against each other.
Whoops.
All in all , another of my faves.

Kids. It's not okay to  throw
boomerangs in cemeteries
.

And while you're at it, don't play
with guns, either.
