sketches
The most fun I've ever had
drawing water.  I Plus I got to
draw the Spector.
And now we know what really
happened to Gilligan.

This image was originally to
be upside down.
As seen in the sketch.>

Another rare
cover where I was
told by my editor
that I could do
whatever I
wanted.
The background
is as much a
character in this
piece as the two
combatants.
One of my
favorites by far.
I am really pleased with how
this turned out, I especially
like their hands.
Hey, even Aquaman needs
some luuuv.
BLACK MANTA:
"
Man, these double helix'
things are sticky! And- uff- is
that... is that  Aquaman?!
Awww- EEWWW!
"
Okay, Some of you out there
have commented on the
'interesting' gun that
Aquaman is holding here.
And yes it does have
handlebars.
The idea was an underwater
version of Dirty Harry.
Stop laughing.
I don't think I could have
missed that goal more if I
tried.
In actuality, I was called by
DC and told I had to do this
plus another cover in about 6
hours. (normaly I would have
2 DAYS.)
This thing is hard for me to
even look at.
It's the most hated of all my
covers.  I'm sorry anyone
ever had to see it.
Above: The proud
owner of the original
artwork that he so
loves.
Here is the second cover of
my horrific 6 hour jam session.
It didn't turn out too bad,
though.

This issue featured a mutated
cop-turned fish Monster.
Originally I was going to give
him big-ol' cop sunglasses.
We are ALL glad  I didn't do
that.

Aquagirl!
Inspired and drawn as a
reverse companion to
Aquaman #23

Drawn in my car in the
Source parking lot.

Kind of a fun cover. Aurthur
can really handle those 50
Cal's.  If its not too creepy, I'll
just say that I really like the
touch of the dead sailors
falling back as the sub
plummets to the ocean floor
below.
Aquaman #23
Companion to the Aquagirl
cover above.

The EEL!
Created by myself and the
uber talented Will Pfeiffer.  To
me, this always looked like
the worlds most dramatic
toilet flush, ever.
